Black belts of the Future Junior students from Torbay, Newton Abbot and Kinsgwear UKTA Taekwon-Do schools recently took their promotion exams in Torquay. All twenty-three students had to competently demonstrate what they had learnt during the last three months in front of International Examiner Mr Steven Millis 5th Dan, assisted by Mrs Lorna Wright 1st Dan and Mr Andrew Kneil 1st Dan. The event commenced with a practical assessment where each student had to perform the physical aspects of Taekwon-do such as Patterns, Sparring, Fundamental Techniques and Padwork. After this assessment they were then invited up to the examination panel where they were asked various questions to see if they understood what they had learnt. The overall standard was very good with all twenty-three passing. There was also a special mention given to Kingswear student Callum Felton who was the only student to receive top marks for his performance. Well done to them all! Successful students in no particular order: - Thomas Bridge, Hannah Millis, Christopher Wright, Herbie Edwards, Sasha Duke, Daniel Smith, Alex Ford, Matthew Ford, Kieran Tully, Ben Ward, Bethany Ward, Jackson Millis, Callum Felton, Megan Felton, Aimee Felton, Teagan Webster, Andrew Doran, Darion Clark, Lauren Webster, Chessie Longland, Katie Longland, Cameron Kneil, Jamie Down (Missing from picture) |
